Thompson Seedless Grapes
Why grow grapes? They make a beautiful and lush addition to a patio cover or fence AND provide delicious fruit! If grown on a patio cover, the hanging fruit is stunning and so fun to watch mature!
Are they hard to grow? No! If anything, they grow too well and require a little pruning to keep tidy and encourage abundant fruiting. Click here to visit University of California Growing Grapes for detailed instructions.
What kind should I grow? Check with your local Cooperative Extension for recommendations for your climate zone. In my Southern California neighborhood, Thompson Seedless (pictured above in a friend's garden), Red Flame, and Lakemont do well.
